A pizza course can give you something useful to practise. A professional profile should make clear what you can actually do. If you are considering training in Brazil, start with the course outline, then turn your learning into specific, honest evidence that a pizzeria can understand.
Two official course listings in São Paulo state illustrate why the details matter. They are examples to compare, rather than a ranking of Brazilian schools or an announcement of open places.
Senac São Paulo’s Pizzaiolo course is listed as an in-person, 160-hour course. Its outline includes dough, sauces, toppings, pizza assembly, menus, production sheets, hygiene and pricing. The page states that successful students receive a certificate.
SENAI São Paulo’s Fabricação de Pizzas course is listed as an in-person, 40-hour professional development course. Its stated focus is planning and carrying out pizza production with quality, hygiene and safety considerations.
These are different descriptions and time commitments. Hours alone do not tell you which course fits your experience, how much individual practice you will receive, or whether an employer will consider you ready for a particular station. Neither listing establishes international credential equivalence or permission to work abroad.
We did not verify a current intake date, available place or final price for either course. Check those details directly with the provider before making plans.
Use the advertised outline as the starting point for a conversation with the school. Ask:
Write down the answers. A clear comparison is more useful than choosing a course because its title sounds impressive.
After training, describe the tasks you practised. Separate classroom work from paid kitchen experience. For example, you could write: “Practised mixing and portioning dough in supervised classes; looking for a junior pizza role to develop service experience.” Use this wording only if it accurately describes your own background.
A useful portfolio entry pairs your own finished pizza photograph with a short explanation: style, dough process, oven used and what you personally did. Obtain permission before including other people or identifiable workplaces. Do not borrow another pizzaiolo’s work to make a profile look complete.
Choose your three strongest pizza styles and explain your level honestly. If you are still learning a style, say so. Add your current city and country, relevant languages, previous roles and the locations where you want to work. Keep your availability and work-authorisation information accurate; a course certificate should not be presented as evidence of immigration eligibility.
When reviewing a candidate, ask which tasks they have completed independently and which still need supervision. Connect those answers to your own menu, equipment and service expectations. A clear description of the role, schedule, pay and location helps both sides decide whether to continue.
Training can be one part of the conversation. It should not replace checking relevant experience, discussing expectations and confirming the conditions of an actual vacancy.
