Jairo Carrizo Crowned World Pizza Champion in Buenos Aires
Canal 26
27-year-old Jairo Carrizo, owner of Mima in Palermo, won the 2nd World Pizza and Empanada Championship (organized by APYCE) at Buenos Aires' La Rural on Sept 2–4, 2026, beating 200+ competitors across 12 categories. He'll represent Argentina at Spain's Gourmet Pizza Championship and at Parma's World Pizza Championship in 2027.
Giuseppe Cutraro Wins the 11th Pizza DOC World Championship

Cutraro claimed the title at the Campionato Mondiale Pizza DOC — the same competition that crowned Naples-born pizzaiolo Daniele Gagliotta champion in an earlier edition. Gagliotta now runs a Neapolitan pizzeria in Mexico City.
